Prometheus Bound is an Ancient Greek tragedy attributed to Aeschylus. The play tells the story of Prometheus, the Titan who brought fire to humans and derailed Zeus' attempts to destroy humanity. Prometheus is chained to a mountain as punishment. After the Oceanids try to comfort him and after Prometheus speaks with Io and prophesies her son, Zeus interrogates Prometheus about who is planning to overthrow him. Prometheus refuses, Zeus strikes him with a lightening bolt and he is cast into the abyss.
