MS. Found in a Bottle is an 1833 short story by Edgar Allan Poe about the narrator's mythic travels at sea. Leaving from Indonesia, his ship is hit by a hurricane. After being thrown overboard, the narrator manages to climb onto an enormous galleon, run by old men who cannot see him. The narrator begins to record his journey, intending to put it in a bottle and throw it in the sea. In the end, the crew steers the ship into Antarctica to sink in a giant whirlpool.
