Enrique's Journey is a 2006 novel by Sonia Nazario based on the story of Enrique, a seventeen-year-old boy who traveled from Honduras to the United States to find his mother. Enrique's mother moves to the United States to make money, sending it home to support Enrique's education. However, years pass and she is unable to return so Enrique decides to find her. Traveling northward through Mexico by hopping trains, Enrique perseveres with other migrants through the dangers of violent gangsters and corrupt police.
