The Rime of the Ancient Mariner is a poem about the ancient mariner, who stops the wedding guest and tells his seafaring story. After being tossed towards Antarctica in a storm, the mariner shoots an albatross, cursing the ship. Stuck in the doldrums, they lose a bet to the ship of Death and the crew dies. However, the mariner finally sees the beauty in the sea creatures, the crew comes back to life and they sail back. The ship sinks, but the mariner escapes to tell his tale.
