Jabberwocky

Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll

"Jabberwocky" is a poem by Lewis Carroll that appeared in his 1871 novel Through the Looking-Glass and What Alice Found There. Alice finds a book written in an unknown language and, holding the book up to a mirror, she is able to read the poem "Jabberwocky." Fitting with the rest of the dream-like novel, "Jabberwocky" is a nonsense poem composed of mostly made-up words whose phonic qualities and associations paint a dark and fantastical landscape with creatures that can be imagined and interpreted in many ways.
