Schindler's List is a film based on the true story of Oskar Schindler, a German factory owner who saved the lives of thousands of Jewish people during the Holocaust. Schindler, a member of the Nazi Party, at first uses Jews as a source of slave labor, but later witnesses a massacre in the Krakow ghetto and begins to sympathize with the Jewish plight, and is able to keep his workers from being transported to Auschwitz. This film examines themes of war and the will to survive.
