Exeter Book is a tenth-century anthology of Anglo-Saxon poetry by unknown authors, presented to the library of Exeter Cathedral in 1072. Though some of the original pages are lost, it is nevertheless the largest extant collection of Old English literature. The book contains elegies, poems related to religious and mythical themes as well as numerous riddles. Many of the riddles are short, while some of the poems tell longer stories related to Christian themes.
