Rhinoceros is an absurdist play that shows what can happen when people blindly follow the herd. Everyone around Berenger, a ordinary man who's messy and unkempt, begins transforming into rhinoceroses, including his friend Jean, who transforms in front of him. Eventually, just Berenger, his love interest Daisy, and colleague Dudard remain human. Daisy and Dudard are unable to resist and transform, leaving Berenger on his own. The play examines the limits of logic and suggests that it's the common man who can have the greatest impact on the world.
