Cujo is the story of the Cambers and the Trentons, two families living in rural Maine. Donna Trenton and her four-year-old son Tad become trapped in a broken-down car by an enormous rabid St. Bernard, the title character Cujo, who belongs to the dysfunctional Camber family. Over the course of the novel Donna is forced to face up against the ravening dog, eventually killing him, although too late to protect her son from death by dehydration.
