Seedfolks is a 1997 novel by Paul Fleishman about the creation of a community garden in Cleveland, Ohio. The story follows the transformation of a trash-filled vacant lot into a thriving garden tended by the diverse cast of individuals from the surrounding neighborhood. Each of the characters involved has a different ethnic background and has experienced various problems, prejudices and fears that have previously prevented interaction with the strangers in the neighborhood. However, as the garden grows and more people become involved, the community becomes closer and more connected.
