Call of the Wild Essay

In Jack Londons The Call Of The Wild. The main character, Buck, experiences many new things and phases . And his mind, life, personality, and heart change.

The first phase in Bucks life is when he is on judge millers farm where he is spoiled. For example he can sit in side whenever he wants. This shows that buck is a good and respectful dog. This also shows that bucks owners trust love and care for him. In addition Buck can swim whenever he wants to and wont get in trouble. This shows that Buck is faithful and wont run away. This is important because he is one of the few trustful and faithful dogs. As a result Buck ends up being soft and not at his full strength.

The second phase is after he is stolen, gets used to the wild, and becomes a snow dog. One example of this is Buck learns that he is supposed to dig a hole at night to sleep in for warmth. This shows that buck has adapted to the environment a little bit. This is because one of the other dogs shows him how to do it. Another example of buck becoming more of a snow dong is when Spitz trips Buck while there chasing a rabbit and buck is ready to fight the next second. This shows that Buck is stronger and madder than ever and he wants to finally get rid of Spitz. This is important because buck gets to kill his biggest enemy. Overall Buck becomes stronger faster and smarter while in the wild than when he was on the farm.

As I have said Buck goes from a weak farm dog to a viscous and strong snow dog. While on the farm he didnt do much so his body was weak, but after he was stolen he was worked and worked till he was amazingly strong. Overall buck was taught faith, responsibility ,and last of all respect.
