A Report on New Moon
Stephanie Meyer wrote the romance New Moon. Meyer graduated with a bachelors degree in English from Brigham Young University. Meyer was a most promising new author in 2005. Her book Twilight was number one on The New York Times best seller list. Meyer wrote Twilight, New Moon, Eclipse, Breaking Dawn and The Host.
The story takes place in Forks, Washington present time. Forks is a rainy, foggy, and cold place. Because all of the rain everything is really green. Many plants grow here, all the forest are thick and filled with all kinds of plants. The people in Forks are very close. Forks is a small town so everybody knows everybody in this small town. Forks has one school and not many stores.
The theme of this story is love is complicated. Bella love Edward Cullen but also loves Jacob Black and she has to choose which one she loves more.
The story begins when Bella cuts her finger on a birthday present at the Cullens and Edwards brother attacks Bella causing the Cullens to leave town. After the Cullens leave Bella is depressed but finds comfort in a childhood friend Jacob Black. Jacob is the opposite of Edward, Jacob is a ware wolf. After becoming close friends with Bella, Jacob falls in love with her, but Bella loves Edward more. When Edwards life becomes endangered Bella must go to Italy to save him, but she must choose to save the love of her life or break her best friends heart. Bella must leave to go save Edward but is sorry for what she done to Jacob.
There are a number of conflicts in this story. Man versus himself conflicts occur when Edward decides to kill himself, when Jacob falls in love with Bella, and when Bella has to choose between Edward and Jacob. When Jacob is changing into a ware wolf man versus super natural happens. Man versus fate occurs when Bella tries to change the fate of Edward and save his life. When Edward and Jacob are fighting over Bella man versus man occurs.
Bella Swan is the main character in New Moon. Bellas parents are divorced and her father is a police man in Forks, Washington. While her mother is happily married to a baseball player. When Bella decides to move in with her father in Forks her whole life changes. Bella is very quiet and shy. Even though she grew up in sunny San Francisco she is very pale. Bella is slender but not an athlete. She is very clumsy and falls, slips, or trips all the time. She does not have the best luck, bad things always happen to her. When Bella falls in love with a vampire and becomes best friends with a ware wolf, her life becomes more than she ever imagined. At first Bella dislikes Forks but after she meets Edward she begins to like the little town.
Love can be difficult but in the end is worth it. Bella loves both Jacob and Edward but chooses Edward.
