The Killer Angels Essay

A universal theme for war is that war is bad and it is not the answer. In The Killer Angels, the plot is about the Civil War so there is a lot of fighting. War is not the answer and it is really bad because a lot of people die, homes and jobs are destroyed, and the economy suffers.

Many people died in the Civil War. It had the most American casualties in any war because both sides were American. In the book, a lot of people died and some of them were important people like A.P. Hill and Johnston Pettigrew. Because of wars around the war, a lot of men and women have died. War is evil and all it does is hurt people in different ways. If people could work things out in a civil way, then there would be no wars and innocent people would not die.

During wars, a lot of homes and jobs are destroyed. They are burned, bombed, captured or abandoned because they are in dangerous areas. Because of war, people have to leave their homes and some probably do not have place to go to. Stores do not get many customers because of the war, so they eventually have to shut down and the owners become poor.

One very big consequence of war for a lot of people is that the economy gets really bad. Because of wars, people have to move to different places and they do not have enough money to have a decent life. The people that live in the countries that are at war suffer very much because their taxes go to funding the wars. The money is used to buy food, clothes and other wartime necessities for the soldiers. Most of the money goes to weapons to kill the enemy which is very wrong. However, in the book, the soldiers do not have enough military equipment. The soldiers were low on artillery and food which would make them weak and it would be hard for them to fight which would make them lose the battle. War makes almost everyone poorer and affects us all in many different ways.

War is an evil thing and there should be no war. War is not the answer. Because of war, people die, homes and jobs are destroyed, the economy gets really bad, and many other awful things happen. If I could, I would stop war because innocent people die trying to fight for their countries even though their country could try to find an alternative for war. War should be stopped. If war stopped all around the world, the world would be a great place and everyone would be happy.
