Dissension
Animal Farm is a classic tale of rivalry between human and animal. Rebellion plays a huge role in the plot of this fable. When rebellion takes place everything is turned up-side-down.
The animals of Manor Farm are encouraged to rebel after the eldest pig on the farm, Old Major, gives a speech shortly before his death. Plans are made and the animals, leaders being the pigs, take charge and overthrow the owner Mr. Jones. In the beginning of the revolution seven commandments are formed and painted on the side of the barn for all the animals to view. All of the commandments end up being broken one way or another, then are revised by the sly pig, Squealer. Two major battles occur and one pig is left superior over the rest, Napoleon. Most nearly every single animal ends up dying somehow, either by force or natural causes. Napoleons loyal followers were the only ones that did not end up dying. At the end of the novel the pigs end up being the thing hey hated most. Animal Farm by George Orwell, ends by having a reoccurrence of what happens in the beginning, but only with different characters and a whole new moral to the story. The pigs become the enemy along with the humans who were the ones that originally got kicked out.
I have to re-live the story of Animal Farm every day of my life! The only difference is that the children are the pigs and the parents are the sheep. My parents are very intelligent, yet some how we still manage to get around their punishments some way or another. My siblings and I are the pigs. My brother, Gabriel, is snowball my sister, Ruby, would be Squealer. I would be Napoleon since I am the eldest of all of us and basically the dictator! The adults in the family would account for the other animals on the farm. Such as, my dad would be Boxer the cart horse, and my mom is most like Mollie.
The message that the author is trying to convey is rebellion and democracy. A majority of this book is based on rebellion. Also how the animals took over the farm after old majors speech. Another example is when animals rebel anything with two legs. Not short after the pigs themselves start walking on two legs then start changing the rules. Democracy also plays a great role in this book because it was mostly based of off the Russian revolution. Most of this book was encouraging. What every animal did played a part in the themes of this book.
My favorite part of Animal Farm was when Boxer exclaimed to the animals he would work harder. He has a mis-understanding and even after believing what he knew was wrong he still followed them. Another part I also enjoyed was the Battle of Cowshed. In the Battle of Cowshed the animals gang up on the humans to stand for what they believe in! On the way to the farm the humans were determined to win. Yet so were the animals. As they fought in the battle the animals held strong. They won the battle and kept the farm to themselves. Personally that shows how much more the animals were determined to win rather the humans. Overall the book to me was a great classic tale of determination and perseverance
This story was much like another story I have read. The story was about gang rivalry between the aristocracy and the lower class. The higher class of gang member owned the whole neighborhood. Until one of their brothers died they had not taken a stand to anyone, but that quickly changed. Much like the fable animal farm, the lower class took over. When the loser class took rein over the city. They soon felt the stress and split up the gang into superior and lower level members. Much like animal farm they took over and took need upon themselves to build and create a better society. Half way into the story the gang starts to rival and the gangs begin to fight between each other. The city ends up split up and taken over by the aristocracy of the city. The city much like the farm has become a dictatorship.
I did like the book Animal Farm because I can relate it to my own life and time in modern days. Also I thought it was interesting in how George Orwell used allusion in his animalism theory. I feel this way because when I read this book it had a big effect on the way I saw things and made me think more now ion how I relate people to animals. Something from the book they say that I like is when Boxer says, I will work harder! That inspires me knowing he is the hardest worker as is and still wants to do more. All in all the book Animal Farm was a great read! There were many parts of the novel I enjoyed and some I didnt. Most of all I like the themes in the book.
This fable of animals ends in revolt and fiery as democracy plays its part in the end of this novel. The animals roles in the book are reversed as the pigs take on the characteristics of human.
