And Then There Were None

at this point in the book "and then there were none" by Agatha Christie there are many characters that in one or another point during the novel up to chapter 8 seem guilty in some since. at this point the remaining characters to form my hypothesis from are mr rodgers, wargrave, lombard, blore and also the women vera and emily brent. during this time an important discovery was made. a link between the table figurines of the idian boys that related to the ordament of a poem that hangs in everyones room. Mr. rodgers pointed out the connection between mr. marston's death and the missing figurine from the collection.

this raises suspicion to me becuase of the amount of attention to detail that mr. rodgers had before during and after the death or supposed "suicide" of anthony marson. a young man that had everything he could desire. just as a efficiant murderer would want to pay close attention to his moves so did mr rodgers. but now he removes himself from blame by stating this fact and trying to solve the mystery making him seeminly more caring of the sitchuation.

once you find a flaw in someones story or guiltyness you must back track and think of other possible clues that may have let to the current sitchuation. come to think of it now this unassuming buttler of the house and his wife were the first people to seemingly inhabit this island getaway. therfore if he is the true culprit of marston's murder he would have had time to make all preperations nessisary to effeciantly pull this plan off.

Mr. rodgers was a seemingly upright citezen and a good loyal server. on the other hand his supposed wife was a ghost of a woman that looked as if she were in constant fear of everything. Had rodgers been the true culprit then this would make since that maybe she knew of his criminal activities. maybe they were not married at all but she was in fact a captive, it sure seems reasonable for her being so standoffish and shy all the time.

To conclude my accusations of the seeminly upright and respectable person and character of Mr. Rodgers, there are some aspects of this individual that are to say the least peculiar. to add on to my thoery is the behavior of his dear wife. also the amound of time spent in preperation of the others arrival puts this man into my scrupilization. we will see if my accusations ring true near the end of the novel as we keep reading.
